Compliable, a US gambling license platform provider, has tapped Justin Stempeck to serve as the company’s new Chief Strategy Officer.
Stempeck will be tasked with helping the senior team continue Compliable’s growth in the US gambling market. The company has already secured funding to continue development on its platform designed to assist US sportsbooks with preparing applications and securing proper licenses for their employees.
Stempeck’s history and experience make him a prime candidate for such a position. His professional background consists of work with both online and land-based casino operators in areas such as administrative law, contracts, government affairs, and litigation.
He previously served as DraftKings’ first Director of Licensing. In that role, he was responsible for the company’s licensing processes for all products, within the US and internationally, including online casinos, sportsbooks, and daily fantasy sports.
Before DraftKings, Justin honed his skills working as an Associate General Counsel at the Massachusettes Gaming Commission. In that position, he provided guidance on legal issues as well as developing policy initiatives.
Speaking on his decision to accept the position, Stempeck said, “Compliable is at such an impressive stage in their already fast-paced business growth. I am very excited to become chief strategy officer for a company that has found a solution to such a significant proportion of employee licensing challenges faced by all operators and vendors.
“This is a corner of the industry that is becoming ever more crucial to operator and vendor success, and I can’t wait to help propel the process forward.”
Chris Oltyan, CEO at Compliable spoke highly of Stempeck saying, “We are delighted to have Justin join us as he brings extensive gaming experience to our senior leadership team. His knowledge of the regulatory landscape will enhance our ability to navigate the complicated web of US gaming compliance.”
The onboarding of Stempeck comes just weeks after the addition of Carl Sottosanti, former Penn National Gaming general counsel, to the board of advisors.
Compliable is a privately held company founded in 2020. The company provides a platform to help legal US sportsbooks, vendors, and iGaming companies efficiently apply for and manage employee licenses across multiple states. Compliable’s platform has been shown to reduce preparation time from weeks to days while also lessening the workload of compliance teams.
